NWPC LA METRO INVITES YOU
TO SEEK OUR ENDORSEMENT
NWPC LA Metro endorses Los Angeles women running for local races within our electoral district boundaries (check out caucus area here). In the case of state and national races, when the electoral district expands into other caucus boundaries, we work with the LA County Coordinating Council to conduct the endorsement process.

The NWPC has a number of baseline issues that are foundational to any endorsement of a candidate.
These are:
THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT:
The proposed Equal Rights Amendment stated: “Equality of rights under the law cannot be denied or abridged by the United Sates or any State on account of sex.” In order to be endorsed by the NWPC, a candidate must support the spirit of the Equal
Rights Amendment.
REPRODUCTIVE CHOICE:

In recent years, an orchestrated effort has chipped away at women’s right to reproductive choice by dividing the issue into sub-issues including parental consent, late-term abortions, and public finding of family planning and abortion. In order to be endorsed by the NWPC, a candidate must unequivocally support a woman’s right to reproductive self-determination, and support public funding
of abortion.
CHILD CARE AND DEPENDENT CARE:

In order to be endorsed by the NWPC, a candidate must support increased access to child care and other dependent care programs funded from all available sources.
COMPARABLE WORTH:

Comparable Worth is the effort to bring wages in female-dominated occupations to a level of pay equal to other jobs (often male-dominated) that require comparable skills, responsibilities and education. In order to be endorsed by the NWPC, a candidate must support the concept of comparable worth.
To begin the endorsement process, we require candidates to complete our endorsement questionnaire. Following our receipt of a completed questionnaire, we schedule candidate interviews with our PAC.
